Nautor Swan

Nautor Swan is a Finnish yacht builder founded in Pietarsaari in 1966 by Pekka Koskenkylä. The company built its reputation around performance sailing yachts that combined offshore ability with increasingly sophisticated interiors. Nautor Swan states that more than 2,350 yachts have been built during its six decades of production.

The company's history includes some of the best-known names in performance cruising. Early yachts were associated with Sparkman & Stephens, while Germán Frers later became one of the defining naval architects of the modern Swan range. The Swan 65 Sayula II won the first Whitbread Round the World Race in 1973–74, an important milestone in the yard's sailing heritage.

Swan cruising yachts

The Swan 51 begins the current Luxury Yacht Guide cruising selection at 16.90 metres and is designed for coastal and offshore use with a manageable sail plan. The 19.11-metre Swan 58 adds greater tankage, accommodation and several keel choices for owners planning longer-distance cruising.

At 21.76 metres, the Swan 65 combines a guest cockpit with a separate sailing area and can be configured around different owner and crew arrangements. Above it, the 23.67-metre Swan 73 was announced in 2026 and is scheduled by the builder to reach the water in 2027.

Performance, construction and ownership

Nautor Swan's differentiating factor is that sailing performance remains central even as yacht size and accommodation increase. The company carries design, engineering, manufacturing and final testing through an integrated production operation in Pietarsaari and supports owners through its global service network.
