A modern bluewater Swan in the 55-foot class
The current Swan 55 is a 17.75-metre performance-cruising yacht designed by Germán Frers. It continues a long sequence of Swan yachts around this size while using a contemporary hull form, twin rudders and a deck plan developed for both efficient sailing and comfortable cruising. Nautor Swan positions the model as a yacht that can be handled for family cruising but can also be specified with a stronger performance orientation.
Designed around long periods aboard
The deck separates sailing functions from the areas used for dining, relaxing and access to the water, while cockpit and transom features increase the usable exterior space at anchor. Below deck, the standard concept provides three principal cabins and two heads, with additional flexibility for storage or crew use. Interior designer Misa Poggi developed several finish schemes, allowing owners to choose different visual characters without changing the underlying cruising layout.
Performance without abandoning practicality
Official specifications give the Swan 55 a five-metre maximum beam and multiple keel options, allowing draft and performance to be matched more closely to an owner's cruising plans. The model is therefore aimed at buyers who want genuine offshore capability and refined accommodation rather than a pure racer. Its strongest appeal is the balance between sailing performance, manageable systems, storage, protection on deck and the practical requirements of spending extended periods aboard.
