Swan 65 overview
The Swan 65 is a 21.76-metre performance-cruising yacht designed by Germán Frers for Nautor Swan. It brings much of the layout flexibility and offshore capability associated with larger Swan models into a size that can still be operated with a relatively small crew. The hull is moderately light for its length, broad aft and designed around twin rudders to maintain control as heel angle increases.
The cockpit is divided between guest and sailing functions. The forward section provides protected seating and dining, while the central working area groups the powered winches close to the twin helms. This separation allows guests to remain clear of most sail-handling activity while still giving a full racing crew enough room when the yacht is used competitively.
Dimensions, draft and machinery
Official specifications list an overall length of 21.76 metres, maximum beam of 5.62 metres and light displacement of 27.25 tonnes. The standard fixed keel draws 3.50 metres. An optional telescopic keel changes draft from approximately 2.80 metres in the raised position to 4.20 metres when fully lowered, giving owners a way to balance access to shallower harbours against deeper-keel sailing performance.
Auxiliary power comes from a 150 hp Yanmar 4LV150 diesel. Fuel capacity is 1,200 litres and water capacity is 1,000 litres. The published sail plan includes a 121.9-square-metre mainsail and a 118.3-square-metre jib.
Accommodation flexibility
Nautor Swan offers both owner-forward and owner-aft interior concepts. The day area uses a long saloon and panoramic living space, while alternative crew-quarter positions allow the yacht to be configured for family operation or more formal service. The opening transom also provides a bathing platform and access to a garage sized for a tender of up to about 2.8 metres.
