The 22m FPY 70S arrives at Cannes
Fountaine Pajot has used the 2026 Cannes Yachting Festival for the world premiere of the FPY 70S, placing the 22-metre sailing catamaran at the centre of its larger-yacht range. The model measures 10.03 metres across the beam and uses twin 150hp engines as standard, with 195hp units available as an option.
The yacht sits below the 24m threshold while providing the scale normally associated with significantly larger vessels. Fountaine Pajot quotes 2,433 square feet of living space and accommodation for as many as 12 guests and five crew, giving the model a clear long-range and owner-operated luxury brief.
Eight layouts broaden the owner brief
One of the FPY 70S’s defining features is the level of configuration available below and on the main deck. Up to eight layouts can be specified, with three to six guest cabins and different galley positions depending on whether the owner prioritises private accommodation, guest capacity or service circulation.
The exterior spaces are similarly substantial, including a large aft cockpit, panoramic flybridge and forward relaxation area. The owner’s suite itself occupies a significant portion of the available volume, reinforcing the yacht’s emphasis on residential comfort rather than simply maximising berth numbers.
Energy systems support longer periods at anchor
Fountaine Pajot offers up to 7kW of solar generation together with a lithium battery bank of as much as 64kWh. A 16kW generator and high-output watermaker form part of the wider energy and water strategy, intended to reduce generator dependence and increase autonomy during extended stays away from shore facilities.
That systems approach is increasingly important in the large cruising-catamaran market, where owners expect hotel-style comfort but also want quieter periods at anchor. The FPY 70S combines those requirements with separate crew circulation and technical areas intended to preserve privacy for owners and guests.
A new flagship-scale option below 24 metres
The Cannes debut places the FPY 70S alongside Fountaine Pajot’s broader 2026 premieres, but its size and level of customisation make it especially relevant to buyers comparing luxury yachts rather than conventional production catamarans. Its 22m hull length leaves useful regulatory headroom while delivering substantial interior and exterior volume.
