Cay Electronics plans to demonstrate its CayCube power package at IBEX in Tampa from 6 to 8 October. The compact system stores energy for onboard AC loads and is positioned as an alternative to running a conventional generator throughout a quiet evening at anchor.
What a quiet-power installation offers
The supplier positions CayCube around appliance, air-conditioning and charging loads, using stored energy without the noise of a running generator during discharge. An owner should distinguish that local quiet operation from the fuel or shore electricity needed to replenish the system later.
The company has previously presented the equipment in a Hinckley Talaria refit context. That example is not proof that every 12–24m yacht has an identical electrical load or available installation space.
Calculate the real duty cycle
A marine electrician should record continuous and peak demands for galley equipment, cooling, navigation and hotel services before sizing any battery package. Charging sources, available shore current and time between engine runs also determine whether the proposed arrangement is practical.
CayCube describes shore, generator and hybrid alternator recharge paths. The correct configuration depends on propulsion equipment and the existing electrical design, not solely on a brochure runtime.
An October trade-show demonstration
CayCube’s published show calendar lists IBEX at the Tampa Convention Center. Builders and owners can inspect the enclosure and ask how system controls, fault protection, service access and monitoring are integrated into a working yacht.
