Barantech will show its Cruzo control system at IBEX and METSTRADE, with digital switching designed to work across newer and established yacht installations. The centrepiece is a programmable relay linking glass control panels to actual onboard equipment.
Eight channels for different loads
Barantech specifies four 10-amp and four 20-amp relays in its eight-channel Smart Relay. The unit can control lights, bilge pumps, blowers and windlasses while monitoring current and displaying circuit status.
Its NMEA 2000 compatibility is particularly relevant when a 12–24m refit already has multifunction displays and a mixture of traditional wiring and networked equipment. Each actual electrical load nevertheless needs its own protection and installation review.
Configuration rather than identical switches
Cruzo’s configurable glass panels and updated software tools are intended to let builders select functions and labels for a specific boat. A cockpit switch arrangement will not necessarily suit the saloon, so commissioning must be grounded in the vessel’s layout and user priorities.
The supplier describes integration with existing systems, not universal plug-and-play compatibility. Owners should ask for an interface schedule and a documented method of operating critical equipment if a network fault occurs.
October and November shows
The company lists IBEX in Tampa for 6–8 October and METSTRADE in Amsterdam for 17–19 November. Its exhibition presentation includes the updated configurable panel and relay family rather than a named new yacht delivery.
