Why there is no single 15-metre yacht price

Two yachts around 15 metres can have very different purchase prices even when their overall dimensions appear similar. Hull type, builder, construction method, propulsion, equipment, interior specification and production volume can all materially change the price of the finished yacht. A high-performance motor yacht, a sailing yacht and a wide luxury catamaran should therefore not be treated as directly comparable simply because their lengths are close.

A new yacht gives the buyer greater control over specification and condition, but delivery timing and optional equipment must be considered. A used yacht can offer a different value proposition, but condition, maintenance history, hours, equipment age and required remedial work become central to the decision. A survey and technical inspection should be treated as part of the buying process rather than assuming that age alone determines value.
