An Italian materials supplier seeks wider distribution

Vaber Industriale has presented an expanded marine product selection at IBEX 2026 in Tampa, as the Turin-based business looks for US distributors and commercial partners. The portfolio spans bonding, sealing, composite-production consumables and specialist maintenance materials. The announcement concerns professional supplies for builders and yards rather than a new yacht or a finished accessory for every owner.

Materials behind a clean cockpit or a watertight deck rarely attract the same attention as a new engine, yet their selection influences the durability of the finished vessel. For yachts between 12 and 23.99 metres, the suitability of a sealant or adhesive can be especially important during a targeted refit when many materials of different ages meet.

Products for wet decks, glazing and internal joints

Vaber identifies SP5, a one-component polyurethane sealant for joints in metals and composites, and Advantseal, a solvent- and isocyanate-free SMP product intended for weather-resistant bonding. Advantseal DC is aimed at teak deck seams, while Multibond covers a range of interior bonding and hatch or portlight applications. These are distinct products rather than interchangeable names for a universal sealant.

A yard must match the chosen material to the substrate, expected movement, surface preparation and service environment. Chemical compatibility and curing conditions should be verified from technical data sheets, particularly around glazing or a critical watertight fitting. A seemingly convenient multipurpose claim does not remove the importance of established procedures.

Consumables for composite manufacturing

The presentation also includes vacuum bagging films, release films, infusion meshes, breather fabrics, technical tapes, connectors and hoses. Such supplies are essential to consistent resin processing and composite fabrication, where a small defect can compromise finish or structural quality. The company says its portfolio supports infusion, resin-transfer moulding and other controlled processes.

Further specialist products include Quick Tack HD for positioning reinforcing fabrics, Cable Tie Mounts for non-invasive pipe and cable securing, and Armor 3X, a PTFE-based lubricant paste. Each addresses a different workshop task. Buyers should distinguish a temporary assembly aid from a component designed to remain part of the completed yacht.

What the planned US growth means

Vaber was established in Turin in 1957 and is approaching its seventieth anniversary. Its IBEX objective is to develop distributor relationships, so American availability may develop at different speeds for particular products. Owners should verify stock, applicator training and technical support before planning a time-sensitive refit around newly introduced ranges.

The October show marks a supplier expansion into a market with many yachtbuilders and boatyards. The benefit for a customer will be measured by properly documented materials, dependable availability and competent installation, not simply by the breadth of the catalogue. Distribution arrangements should also cover documentation in the language used by the local workshop. That matters particularly for shelf life, curing temperature, safe handling and claims about compatibility with marine substrates.
