New Zealand manufacturer Anura is preparing its first US trade-show appearance at IBEX in Tampa on 6–8 October. The supplier’s display covers modular amphibious systems for different boat sizes, including its S75 family for nominal hull lengths of 12–13 metres.

Matching a system to a hull

Anura describes its S10-to-S75 range in terms of the boat’s weight and intended application, not as a universal wheel set for any hull. Its official chart lists the S75 for nominal 12–13m hulls and a 7,500–8,000kg maximum gross vehicle mass.

That places its upper system within LYG’s 12–23.99m subject range, although individual boats need manufacturer-approved design and engineering. The quoted dimensions are guidance, not permission to retrofit an existing yacht without calculations.

How amphibious operation differs

Suitable craft use retractable wheel assemblies to move between land and water without depending on a conventional boat ramp. The system must be designed around hull structure, equipment weight and available onboard power, while water propulsion remains a separate specification.

An amphibious option can help a nearshore cruising household reach a suitable beach or launch location. It does not permit driving over protected shorelines, entering unsafe terrain or ignoring local access rules.

A practical engineering display

The IBEX announcement identifies an S25 assembly with an electric-over-hydraulic power unit for inspection, alongside examples of wheel equipment from several system sizes. This gives builders a chance to study integration and discuss appropriate power sources.

A smaller demonstration component is not a photograph of an actual S75 installation. The article’s official company image illustrates the technology rather than a named 12-metre yacht.

Applications and constraints

Anura supplies recreational, commercial and first-response builders, including craft that operate where access infrastructure is limited. For a large tender or compact adventure yacht, payload, stability and maintenance access are as important as the convenience of a beach approach.
