Eyemouth already operates the equipment it will support
Eyemouth Marine is based at Eyemouth Harbour in the Scottish Borders and already uses a 50-tonne Sublift in its own vessel-handling operations. That gives the new distributor direct working experience with the equipment rather than approaching the product solely from a sales perspective.
For yacht owners and yards, practical familiarity matters because haul-out equipment becomes critical when a vessel needs maintenance at short notice. A distributor that understands daily operation, servicing and failure points can provide more useful support than one focused only on delivery.
The agreement covers sales, parts and technical service
The partnership gives Eyemouth Marine responsibility for Sublift equipment sales, servicing, spare parts and technical support throughout the UK and Ireland. The objective is to create a single regional contact for both existing machine operators and facilities considering new equipment.
Local parts and service access can reduce downtime for boatyards that depend on lifting equipment every day. When a hoist is unavailable, multiple yachts can be delayed for launch, maintenance or storage, so after-sales response becomes part of the yard's overall reliability.
Sublift serves a wide range of yacht-handling needs
Sublift's standard range includes lifting capacities of 12, 25, 50 and 90 tonnes, with customised machines available for specialist applications. The self-propelled, submersible units use slipways to launch, recover and move sailing yachts, motor yachts and commercial craft.
Those capacities cover a significant proportion of the LYG fleet, especially production yachts in the 12-to-24-metre sector. The equipment is therefore part of the infrastructure that supports routine antifouling, propulsion work, inspections and winter storage for private owners.
Boatyard capability influences where owners maintain yachts
Owners rarely choose a yacht on lifting infrastructure alone, but maintenance options become important once a vessel is in regular use. Access to suitable haul-out equipment can determine which yards are practical for annual service or unscheduled repairs.
The new distribution agreement strengthens support for one part of that infrastructure across the UK and Ireland. For marinas and service yards, dependable handling equipment can expand the size and type of yachts they are able to accept while improving turnaround for existing customers.
