An established dealer joins a wider regional network

Seattle Boat Company has acquired Bayside Marine in Everett, Washington, extending the Bohling family's marine retail and service operations into North Puget Sound. The company announced the deal on 5 October 2026 and emphasised the combination of two locally rooted businesses with complementary expertise. Bayside Marine will retain its name, existing employees and established customer relationships as part of the larger group.

The acquisition is an expansion of a dealership and service network rather than a new yacht-building project. For yacht owners, its immediate significance lies in where technical assistance, storage and specialist parts can be sourced while cruising around the northern end of Puget Sound. The parties have not disclosed a purchase price or announced a complete change of the Everett operation's product lines.

Saltwater experience meets a wider service business

Bayside Marine is known locally for used-boat sales, marine maintenance and support for saltwater and fishing craft. It has relationships with Yamaha and Mercury outboard engine products and with trailer suppliers, providing a different concentration of expertise from Seattle Boat Company's existing Cobalt, Malibu and Pursuit businesses. Together, the firms expect to provide owners with a wider range of services rather than duplicating everything at each location.

The Everett team is expected to continue its local business, while customers gain access to a larger technical network, including additional indoor storage opportunities and certified technicians familiar with inboard and watersports installations. The practical value will depend on actual service capacity and scheduling, not only on the range of brands appearing in a corporate announcement.

Support for premium boats travelling farther

Owners of yachts and premium boats visiting multiple marinas regularly encounter the same problem: a repair that is straightforward at the home port can become difficult elsewhere because equipment, diagnostic tools or certified technicians are unavailable. A regional network with local contact points may help reduce that disruption when customers can receive reliable information and realistic repair commitments.

The new arrangement may also improve access to trade-in, resale and winter storage services. Those are particularly valuable for vessels used seasonally in the Pacific Northwest, where lifting, weather protection and engine preparation must be arranged ahead of winter conditions. Customers should verify that the required boat length and lift weight are supported before making assumptions about storage availability.

Eight locations serving different roles

Seattle Boat Company's published network includes sales and services in Seattle, Bellevue and Kent; Lake Union SkyLaunch; Lake Tapps Marina; Tobler Marina in northern Idaho; and Chelan Bay Marina and Chelan Boat Storage. Bayside Marine adds an Everett presence closer to northern coastal cruising areas. The network combines waterfront facilities, service shops, storage operations and boating-club access rather than a single type of dealership.

Not every location offers the same services, and the announcement does not imply that all of them can handle mid-size motor yachts. A yacht owner seeking a haul-out, fuel or a difficult electronics repair should still confirm equipment limits, opening arrangements and technician qualifications with the specific operating site.

A business development worth monitoring

The deal will be judged by continuity of customer service, dependable repairs and the ability to integrate a new operation without losing its local expertise. Familiar employees and regional knowledge are valuable assets in this market, especially when supporting boats through seasonal maintenance and purchase decisions.
