A performance maxi-RIB on the pontoons
The official 2026 Barcelona International Boat Show catalogue lists the SACS 13 at Moll de la Fusta, measuring approximately 13.30 metres overall with a beam of 4.26 metres. SACS markets the Strider 13 as a substantial rigid-inflatable boat designed by Christian Grande Design Works, with a blend of sports performance and sheltered accommodation. The exhibit is relevant to Luxury Yacht Guide's 12.00–23.99-metre sector.
Maxi-RIBs sit between high-performance dayboats and small cruising yachts, offering versatile outdoor areas without sacrificing a recognisable inflatable-tube identity. Their practical appeal depends on intended use: frequent island-hopping, beach excursions and support roles place different demands on seating, storage and accommodation.
Two propulsion approaches
SACS publishes inboard and outboard versions of the Strider 13, with different maximum engine ratings and claimed top speeds. Its listed inboard configuration is capable of up to 45 knots under manufacturer conditions, while a twin-outboard configuration is quoted at up to 52 knots. Those are conditional performance claims, not a guarantee for the yacht on show.
The buyer should establish which arrangement is fitted before comparing running costs or maintenance support. Outboards can simplify some service operations but may affect stern use; inboard systems involve different access and drivetrain considerations. Engine selection influences both weight distribution and the space available aft.
Comfort in an open format
The builder's materials highlight a deep-V hull, deck seating and a practical cabin for short stays. Depending on propulsion and selected interior configuration, the below-deck accommodation is intended for two people with additional optional berths on some versions. The certification and permitted passenger number must be checked for the actual boat.
A comfortable maxi-RIB also depends on shading, safe movement around tubular edges and the location of handholds for seated passengers. Buyers should consider conditions offshore rather than assuming a boat is principally used only in flat water. High speed places particular demands on helmsman judgement and passenger security.
An option beyond traditional motor yachts
The Strider 13’s character will appeal to owners prioritising active coastal use and large exterior spaces rather than a separate saloon and multiple private guest cabins. A direct comparison with other 13-metre yachts should account for sleeping capacity, weather protection, marina support and service access.
Barcelona offers an opportunity to inspect a product already established in SACS's range. The show listing should not be interpreted as a fresh launch or a promise of availability. For the intended use, a proper sea trial and close discussion of the selected propulsion package are essential before placing an order. Particular attention should be paid to where overnight luggage, fenders and deck gear can be kept without obstructing movement. The number of permitted passengers is not an indicator of how many people can be accommodated comfortably overnight.
