Recent upgrades strengthen the brokerage offering
PIPE DREAM has received a series of recent upgrades before joining the sales market. Northrop & Johnson says the work includes new Flag Blue hull paint, a Bluewater watermaker fitted in 2025 and electrical updates completed in 2026, including a new 4,000-watt inverter, new Lifeline house batteries and new engine-start batteries.
The yacht is also fitted with an upgraded Northern Lights 9 kW generator with a sound shield. Together, those improvements reduce the amount of immediate systems work a buyer might otherwise expect on a pre-owned yacht and make the listing more relevant to owners looking for a turn-key cruising platform.
Twin Volvo IPS 600s support owner-operated handling
Propulsion comes from twin 435 hp Volvo IPS 600s, combined with joystick control and the optional Volvo Dynamic Positioning System. Northrop & Johnson says the IPS system has been serviced recently, while the yacht also carries Garmin electronics, Starlink, a Side-Power bow thruster and Zipwake interceptors.
For an owner-operated 50-footer, that combination gives the skipper several tools for easier close-quarters handling and station keeping. Dynamic positioning and joystick control are particularly useful when waiting for a bridge, holding outside a marina entrance or managing a short-handed docking approach.
Two staterooms and two heads support weekend cruising
The Palm Beach 50 is arranged with the aft-galley configuration and includes two staterooms and two heads. Matching helm-style seating is fitted to port, while the galley opens directly toward the cockpit through a flip-up window.
That layout keeps the galley connected to the main social area and makes the yacht practical for weekend use by two couples or a small family. The cockpit includes a convertible sun lounge, electric barbecue and removable sun awning supported by carbon-fibre poles, extending the living space aft toward the teak swim platform.
The listing enters a competitive 50-foot brokerage market
At $1.479 million, PIPE DREAM enters a busy part of the brokerage market where buyers can compare late-model production yachts, refitted examples and newer owner-operated cruisers. Condition, recent maintenance and equipment levels can therefore make a substantial difference to perceived value.
For LYG readers, the listing is notable because it combines the Palm Beach brand’s performance-oriented styling with a practical two-cabin cruising layout and a meaningful package of recent upgrades. Buyers will still need an independent survey and sea trial, but the specification makes the yacht a credible option in the 50-foot luxury-motor-yacht sector.
