The fleet brings together several current Oyster generations

Oyster says the 2026-27 rally includes 23 yachts, with owners from the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Ireland, Spain, Australia, the Netherlands and Belgium. The fleet includes multiple 495, 565, 595 and 675 models alongside larger Oysters.

Most of those yachts fall directly within the 12-to-24-metre luxury sailing segment covered by LYG. Seeing different generations travel together also creates a useful comparison of how hull design, systems and onboard layouts have evolved while serving the same bluewater mission.

A supported rally changes the ownership equation

The Oyster World Rally is not simply a race around the planet. The builder provides logistics, route planning, technical support and training so owners can concentrate more of their attention on sailing and the experience of moving between remote cruising regions.

That support model lowers some of the practical barriers associated with a first circumnavigation, particularly for owners who have not previously managed complex long-distance itineraries. It does not eliminate seamanship responsibility, but it provides a structured framework and access to specialist knowledge.

Current models are being tested in their intended environment

The rally includes fifteen new-generation Oysters, among them 495, 565, 595 and 675 yachts. These are boats designed specifically around extended offshore use, making a multi-ocean programme one of the most relevant environments in which to judge their systems and layouts.

Long passages expose details that remain hidden during coastal ownership, including watchkeeping ergonomics, refrigeration capacity, ventilation, maintenance access and storage discipline. Repeated ocean crossings also test how effectively owners and crew can manage fatigue, repairs and provisioning over time.

The rally reinforces Oyster’s bluewater identity

Oyster has built much of its brand around the idea of capable luxury yachts that owners can take far beyond normal charter and marina circuits. The World Rally turns that positioning into a visible ownership programme and gives the company continuing contact with boats in demanding service.

For prospective buyers, the value is partly practical and partly cultural. They are not only purchasing a yacht, but potentially joining an owner network built around long-range sailing, training and technical support that continues well after the original handover.
