The M50 was recognised in a competitive 16–18m field
The M50 was selected in a category that also included the Invictus ST550 and TT550, Riva 58 Capri and Sunseeker Manhattan 56. Maritimo says the award reflects the model’s combination of offshore capability, practical accommodation and the type of owner-operated cruising for which the company has built its reputation.
The YachtStyle Awards focus on boats and yachts active in the Asian market, making the recognition commercially useful as Maritimo expands its dealer and owner base across the region. For a model in the 50-foot class, the award also places attention on how efficiently a builder uses space without moving into larger-yacht dimensions.
Extended cruising shapes the M50 layout
Maritimo designed the M50 around multi-day cruising rather than short day use. The accommodation includes a full-beam master stateroom and a large VIP cabin, with increased storage and residential-style bathrooms intended to make longer stays aboard more comfortable for owners and guests.
That focus continues through the main living areas, where the galley and upper cockpit are arranged on the same level to create a direct connection between cooking, dining and outdoor entertaining. The layout is intended to reduce unnecessary level changes while keeping the yacht practical for couples and families cruising without a large crew.
The enclosed flybridge creates a second living area
A fully enclosed flybridge gives the M50 a protected upper helm and an additional all-weather lounge. Maritimo describes the space as a genuine second living environment rather than simply a driving station, with an optional fold-out sofa bed increasing the yacht’s overnight flexibility when additional guests are aboard.
For owners cruising in variable climates, an enclosed bridge can extend the practical season by providing shelter from heat, wind and rain while retaining elevated visibility. It also separates the main helm from the saloon, allowing different groups aboard to use the yacht simultaneously without every activity taking place in one shared space.
Southeast Asia remains an important growth market
Maritimo says the award supports its continuing development in Southeast Asia, where the M50 is represented through authorised dealer Primus Marine. The builder sees growing demand from owners who want to cruise between destinations and spend more time at anchor rather than using a yacht only for brief outings close to a home marina.
The M50’s award therefore carries significance beyond the trophy itself. It gives Maritimo another reference point for a model aimed squarely at LYG’s 12-to-24-metre market, where buyers increasingly expect offshore range, substantial accommodation and systems that remain manageable for an owner-operator.
