Genoa closes its 66th edition

The 66th Genoa International Boat Show concluded on 6 October 2026 after six days with 138,273 recorded visitors, an increase of 11.3% over 2025. Organiser Confindustria Nautica reported more than 1,000 boats and exhibitors representing 45 countries.

The event brought together vessels ranging from small leisure craft to large yachts, alongside suppliers and marine service businesses. Its breadth makes the show relevant to the Italian boatbuilding industry, but total attendance should not be confused with the number of yacht buyers.

What the visitor figure measures

Visitor numbers offer one measure of the event's reach and the interest generated by participating brands. They cannot reveal how much each exhibitor sold or whether every visitor intended to purchase a boat.

The association described a positive commercial atmosphere and reported that orders and contracts were concluded during the show. Without published consolidated contract totals, however, claims of specific euro-value sales would be premature.

Sea trials as part of the sales process

More than 4,600 sea trials were carried out during the six-day programme, an important feature of a show that allows many boats to be demonstrated afloat. These trials help buyers evaluate handling and arrangements that cannot be appreciated fully from a pontoon.

A brief demonstration still differs from an independent sea trial on a yacht at ordinary cruising weight and in representative conditions. Prospective owners should request fuel-use data, helming access and the test assumptions before committing to a particular model.

New launches and market breadth

The organiser's material identifies 215 new products presented, including models and marine equipment, and 1,287 accredited journalists covering the event. The variety spans designs within LYG's 12–23.99m segment and much larger vessels outside the site's yacht-size remit.

A launch count indicates the amount of commercial activity but says little about the maturity or reliability of each new item. Specifications, certification and production schedules are more useful for assessing an individual boat or component.

Italy's marine supply chain

Italy's marine sector includes naval architects, shipyards, engine and deck-equipment suppliers, specialist installers and marinas. A large domestic show provides opportunities for these businesses to meet overseas buyers and strengthen distribution relationships.

Such commercial links influence the aftersales experience of owners cruising between Mediterranean countries. An attractive new yacht is a stronger proposition when reliable technical service is available after it leaves the builder.

A 2027 calendar date is confirmed

Confindustria Nautica has confirmed that the 67th Genoa International Boat Show will take place from 30 September to 5 October 2027. That schedule gives builders and international visitors a firm planning date for the next edition.

The 2026 results establish an attendance milestone and a substantial programme of sea trials, not proof of unlimited future market growth. Owners can use the show statistics as context while evaluating products against their real operating needs.
