Three new models were central to the event
The Open Days highlighted the FP48, FP55 and FPY 70S as newer additions to the range. Buyers could inspect the yachts in a less compressed environment than a large international show, with the yard's team and dealers available to discuss purchase options and financing.
That setting is useful because multihulls of similar length can differ significantly in usable volume, circulation and owner privacy. A private visit gives buyers more time to compare helm positions, cockpit geometry and cabin arrangements before choosing a model.
The wider fleet stayed inside LYG's defined range
Fountaine Pajot also listed the FP41, FP44, FP51, Samana 59 and Thira 80. These models all sit within LYG's 12.00-to-23.99-metre boundary, covering owner-operated family catamarans through to large luxury platforms close to the top of the segment.
The size progression is substantial. Moving from a roughly 12-metre FP41 to a yacht near 24 metres changes berth requirements, sail loads, guest capacity and the likelihood of professional crew, even though both remain within the same editorial category.
Sea trials added evidence beyond static inspection
Fountaine Pajot offered testing opportunities as part of the programme rather than limiting visitors to dockside tours. That allows owners to assess helm feel, sightlines, motion, manoeuvring and how the yacht behaves when sail controls and deck layouts are actually being used.
For buyers planning long-distance private cruising, those details matter more than a showroom impression. A large catamaran can offer exceptional living space, but the ownership decision also depends on whether a couple or small crew feels comfortable operating it in real conditions.
La Rochelle connects the sales process directly with the builder
Holding the event in the shipyard's home region gives prospective owners closer access to the people, production culture and support network behind the yachts. That can make specification discussions more practical because design and technical questions are being addressed near the source.
The Open Days therefore work as more than a marketing event. They give private buyers a structured way to compare several sub-24-metre catamarans while also understanding the service and builder relationship that continues after delivery.
