Hong Kong becomes the base for a wider regional agreement
Asia Yachting already represented Fountaine Pajot in Hong Kong before the new arrangement. The expanded agreement adds the Philippines, Thailand and Singapore, creating coverage across four of the region’s most active leisure-yachting markets.
For owners, regional representation can be as important as the initial sales relationship. A yacht moving between several countries needs access to parts, warranty support and knowledgeable local contacts, so a connected dealer network can reduce friction during longer Asian cruising programmes.
The agreement covers sailing catamarans and larger yachts
Fountaine Pajot says the partnership extends across its sailing-catamaran line and the Fountaine Pajot Yachts range. That gives Asia Yachting a broad product portfolio spanning private family cruisers through to much larger multihull projects.
For LYG buyers, the relevant part of the range includes several production catamarans between 12 and 24 metres. These yachts are increasingly popular in Asia because they offer substantial accommodation volume and shallow draft for island cruising.
Thailand and the Philippines add strong cruising geography
Both Thailand and the Philippines offer extensive island networks where catamaran characteristics can be useful. Shallow draft, wide deck areas and stable behaviour at anchor align naturally with cruising programmes built around bays, beaches and relatively short passages.
Local support can therefore influence whether an owner feels confident basing a yacht in the region. A strong dealer should be able to assist with commissioning, maintenance planning and practical cruising questions rather than simply completing the original sale.
Singapore strengthens the service and business side
Singapore adds a major commercial and technical hub to the expanded territory. Its marina infrastructure, air connections and established marine-services sector make it a useful base for owners moving between Southeast Asian cruising grounds.
The broader strategy shows how builders are treating Asia as a connected ownership market rather than a collection of isolated national territories. For customers, that approach should make cross-border use easier if after-sales standards remain consistent across the network.
