Ferretti Group has introduced a limited additional year of warranty protection for qualifying new yachts through its “+1 Year Ferretti Quality Promise” programme. The extension applies to purchase contracts signed from 1 September 2026 and sits alongside the standard warranty rather than replacing it.

The programme covers yachts up to 45 metres across the Group’s brands, with aluminium and steel units excluded under the published terms. For Luxury Yacht Guide owners, the relevant part of the range includes qualifying GRP yachts from brands such as Ferretti Yachts, Riva, Pershing and Itama.

Coverage focuses on engineering and functional systems

Ferretti says the additional period is aimed at core engineering elements and onboard functional systems rather than cosmetic issues. The company specifically links the programme to areas under its direct control, including design, craftsmanship, installation quality and overall product reliability.

That distinction is important because extended warranty products can vary widely in what they actually cover. Owners should therefore read the contract terms carefully and confirm which systems, exclusions and claim procedures apply to the specific yacht they are purchasing.

Maintenance at official centres is a condition

The extra coverage is not automatic regardless of how the yacht is maintained. Ferretti states that scheduled checks and maintenance must be completed through official Group service centres for the extension to remain valid.

That requirement creates a closer link between warranty protection and the builder’s after-sales network. It can give the manufacturer better visibility of the yacht’s condition, while owners need to factor official service scheduling into their annual operating plans.

The programme extends the builder-owner relationship

Ferretti presented the initiative as part of a broader effort to strengthen owner support beyond delivery. Mandatory inspections by authorised personnel give the Group continued contact with the yacht during the period in which the extended protection is active.

For owners, that can make fault diagnosis and warranty responsibility clearer if a covered issue develops. The practical value will still depend on local service availability, response times and the precise wording of the protection offered with each purchase contract.

Warranty terms are becoming part of the buying decision

Luxury-yacht comparisons usually focus on design, performance, accommodation and price, but after-sales support can materially affect the ownership experience. A longer factory-backed protection period can therefore become a differentiating factor when buyers are comparing yachts with similar specifications.

The Ferretti Quality Promise does not remove the need for independent survey advice, careful commissioning and disciplined maintenance. It does, however, add another ownership consideration for buyers assessing new yachts in the Group’s portfolio and places greater emphasis on long-term manufacturer support after handover.
