Barantech is preparing to demonstrate its updated Cruzo control system at IBEX in Tampa and METSTRADE in Amsterdam, with an NMEA 2000-certified Smart Relay among the additions. Its August announcement describes a configurable system intended for both new-build vessels and selected existing boat retrofits.
For a 12–23.99-metre yacht, networked switching may bring lighting and auxiliary controls together, but suitability depends on the specific electrical architecture. The manufacturer's announcement is a product update rather than proof of compatibility with every helm display.
Control at the helm and around the yacht
Barantech lists the Cruzo panel, Smart Relay, Connect mobile application and Vision multifunction display in its demonstration line-up. The Smart Relay can bridge digital and analogue switching, which can be useful when older equipment is retained during a refit.
The system also has a configuration tool for builders to programme relays and panels. Any yacht installation needs an agreed circuit map, protection settings and fallback operation for safety-critical loads.
The physical controls have changed
The updated glass-front panels are described as thicker and include a button safety-lock option, alongside further configuration functions. Those details address the parts of the system that crew touch most often rather than only its software.
A mobile interface may add convenience when moving around the yacht, but it should not be treated as the sole way to operate essential equipment. Installers must verify network power, relay ratings and device compatibility.
Two trade shows, one product programme
The manufacturer lists IBEX on 6–8 October and METSTRADE on 17–19 November for demonstrations. Those dates establish planned show appearances, not completion of every customer's installation.
