A private residence on Pointe Milou
Winch Design has completed Villa Nougat on Saint Barthélemy in collaboration with local architect Xavier David. The clients’ long-standing connection with the island shaped a highly individual brief rather than a hotel or resort commission.
The house was delivered in January 2026 and is now being documented by its designers. Its residential character makes this a design feature rather than a property-for-sale announcement.
Furniture made to a family’s habits
The design team created 98 custom furniture pieces, among them a dining table intended to seat twelve. Personalised details extend into everyday objects, bringing a consistent identity into the house.
Such specificity is familiar in custom-yacht projects where storage, circulation and entertaining patterns are worked out around owners. The design does not imply the residence is available to rent or open to visitors.
From a marine studio to a Caribbean site
Winch Design’s experience with yacht interiors informs its approach to materials, custom spaces and detailed finishes ashore. The work was undertaken alongside Xavier David’s local architectural contribution.
St Barths is also a destination for visiting luxury yachts, but a home overlooking the coast remains distinct from a marina berth. Owners considering island property need separate advice on local acquisition and maintenance requirements.
