Five cars, fifty years
Porsche New Zealand has commissioned five 911 GT3 Touring sports cars through the manufacturer’s Sonderwunsch programme. Each represents a decade of the marque’s first fifty years in the country.
The August announcement describes a limited local-market project rather than a new global model. It gives collectors a precise commemorative edition to examine.
A colour with a marine connection
The common Paint to Sample finish is Yachting Blue, accompanied by special anniversary graphics and interior details. The cars also reference Sir Colin Giltrap’s contribution to the brand’s history in New Zealand.
The coastal colour theme is a visual connection to travel and design, not an indication of onboard marine equipment. The exact specification belongs to each of the five completed commissions.
What Sonderwunsch changes
The manufacturer’s programme enables detailed personalisation within Porsche’s own production and approval process. This run brings its design capability into a coherent anniversary identity instead of five unrelated custom cars.
Buyers should inspect documentation for each example rather than assume optional equipment from a photograph. Limited production alone says nothing about future market values.
A journey alongside yachting
New Zealand’s motoring routes and cruising destinations make the design reference intelligible to visitors who enjoy time on both land and sea. The GT3 remains a sports car rather than a boat transport solution.
