Webasto is using IBEX 2026 in Tampa to present a wider marine-comfort portfolio spanning self-contained air conditioning, chillers, heating and roof systems. The display forms part of the company’s 125th-anniversary programme and targets boatbuilders looking for integrated climate and onboard-comfort solutions rather than individual components.
The product mix includes the SX-Series and FCF Evo self-contained air-conditioning systems, VX and V-PRO chiller platforms, the Air Top Pro 25 heater and the SoLite marine sunroof. Together they show how thermal-management suppliers are moving toward complete comfort packages that can be specified across different boat sizes and operating climates.
Self-contained air conditioning targets compact installations
Webasto’s self-contained air-conditioning systems are intended for spaces where a central chilled-water plant would add unnecessary complexity. The SX-Series and FCF Evo approach can suit cabins and smaller yachts where independent units simplify installation and allow separate zones to be managed without a large machinery footprint.
The trade-off is that distributed systems place compressors and fans closer to living spaces, making sound insulation, condensate management and service access important. Builders need to balance compact packaging against noise and maintenance over the yacht’s full operating life.
Chiller systems address larger multi-zone yachts
The VX and V-PRO ranges support chilled-water installations in which central machinery supplies several fan-coil units around the yacht. This architecture can separate major compressor noise from guest spaces and gives designers more freedom to distribute cooling across saloons, cabins and crew areas.
For owners, system sizing matters because an oversized plant can cycle inefficiently while an undersized one struggles in hot climates. Good engineering starts with realistic heat-load calculations, insulation quality and the expected pattern of doors, glazing and occupied spaces.
Heating and roof products widen the comfort package
Webasto is also highlighting the Air Top Pro 25 heater and SoLite sunroof, demonstrating that marine comfort involves more than summer cooling. Heating is particularly important for owners extending the season into northern climates, while roof systems affect daylight, ventilation and the usability of enclosed saloons.
Combining several comfort technologies from one supplier can simplify procurement and service relationships for a boatbuilder. It does not remove the need for careful integration, but fewer supplier interfaces can make commissioning and warranty support more straightforward.
IBEX places the products in front of builders
IBEX runs from 6 to 8 October 2026 and is primarily an industry event, making it an important venue for equipment suppliers seeking specification on future production models. Decisions made there may not become visible to yacht buyers until the next model cycle reaches the water.
