The award gives the 55 another 2026 reference point
Robb Report selected the Wajer 55 as its Best Weekender for 2026, recognising a model developed around short breaks, owner driving and comfortable overnight use. The award arrives after the current generation was introduced in 2025 as a major redesign of Wajer's mid-size platform.
Wajer offers the 55 in open, hardtop and sport-oriented versions, allowing the same core design to serve different climates and operating preferences. The official hero used here shows the 55 HT, one of the three current variants in the family.
September puts the range in front of several markets
Wajer's September programme stretches from the Netherlands to the Mediterranean and across the Atlantic, with five events in five countries on the calendar. The schedule combines conventional boat shows with private sea trials and more curated brand experiences.
HISWA te Water opened the month with the 38, 44 and 55 on display, followed by a Cannes rendezvous and further appearances. This approach gives prospective owners a chance to experience the boats underway rather than relying only on static exhibition displays.
The 55 is built around weekend usability
The current Wajer 55 measures 16.80 metres and offers two cabins, a full galley and overnight accommodation for four to six people depending on configuration. Triple Volvo Penta IPS installations support a published top speed of up to 38 knots with the higher-power option.
Practical systems are a major part of the design, including automatic fenders, concealed mooring fittings and an extendable swim platform. These details reduce the amount of manual deck work required from owners and support the model's focus on spontaneous short trips and owner-operated use.
The range blends tender use with independent cruising
Wajer yachts are frequently used as superyacht tenders and chase boats, but the 55 is also equipped for independent weekends away from a mothership. Its cabins, galley and range allow owners to use the boat as a standalone luxury cruiser when required.
That dual role helps explain the model's continuing visibility at lifestyle and yacht events. The 55 family can serve as a sophisticated day boat, a superyacht companion or a self-contained weekender without changing the underlying platform.
