The 58 Convertible is arranged first around serious offshore fishing, with a large working cockpit, mezzanine seating and equipment storage positioned where crews can reach it quickly. The layout is designed to keep active fishing separate from the protected interior without sacrificing guest comfort.
That separation matters on long days offshore because the cockpit has to function as a working environment while the saloon remains a place to cool down, eat and recover. Viking's design therefore treats fishing operations and luxury accommodation as parallel requirements rather than competing ones.
Three staterooms make overnight use realistic
Below deck, the current arrangement provides three staterooms and multiple bathrooms, giving the 58 C enough accommodation for family cruising or a dedicated fishing team. The full-beam master cabin uses the yacht's 5.41-metre beam to create considerably more private space than smaller tournament boats.
The galley and saloon above are designed for extended trips rather than occasional day use, with substantial refrigeration, storage and seating. This allows owners to remain close to distant fishing grounds instead of returning to a marina after every day on the water.
MAN power is standard with MTU available
Viking lists MAN V12 1400 engines as the standard installation, while higher-output MTU machinery is available for owners prioritising performance. With the larger package, the builder has published top speeds around 42 knots and cruising speeds in the mid-30-knot range.
Actual performance depends on fuel load, weather, hull condition and equipment, so the figures should be treated as factory references rather than guarantees. The important point is that the hull is engineered to cover long distances quickly when weather windows and fishing conditions make speed useful.
The 58 C remains a specialist luxury yacht
At 17.96 metres, the Viking sits firmly inside Luxury Yacht Guide's size band but follows a very different brief from a Mediterranean flybridge or open weekender. Every major space is influenced by the needs of offshore sportfishing and long days away from shore.
That specialisation gives the yacht a clear identity in a crowded market. Buyers are not simply choosing another 58-foot motor yacht; they are selecting a platform designed around a particular sport while retaining the accommodation and finish expected from a premium cruising yacht.
