Torqeedo has expanded its recreational electric-propulsion range with the 700W Travel XS and updated Cruise 3.0 and Cruise 6.0 models built around a 48V platform. The company presented the range at boot Düsseldorf 2026, combining new entry-level propulsion with connected controls and a greater use of recycled materials.
Travel XS lowers the entry point
The Travel XS is aimed at smaller dinghies and uses a 700W motor paired, in the Travel Smart Package, with a 648Wh Travel Battery XS. Torqeedo says the package is intended to make electric propulsion easier to adopt without removing the modular battery concept already used across the Travel family.
Cruise moves to a 48V platform
The revised Cruise 3.0 and 6.0 models use Torqeedo’s 48V architecture so they can work with the company’s broader component ecosystem. A folding tiller with a high-resolution display adds Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, allowing owners to connect the motors to the TorqView app for live operating data.
Recycled material reaches production hardware
Torqeedo says up to 95% of the plastic components in the shaft-head assembly are made from recycled ocean plastic. The company is also moving recycled material into other parts of its recreational range, treating material selection as part of the propulsion system’s environmental footprint rather than a separate marketing exercise.
A broader use case for electric outboards
The new Cruise motors are positioned for displacement boats up to six tonnes or sailing boats up to 35ft, putting them squarely into the lower end of the luxury-yacht support and tender market. For owners, the practical questions remain range, charging time and installation design, but the 48V platform makes system integration more straightforward than a collection of isolated components.
