SURPRISE, the 20.37-metre Alibi 65 sailing catamaran offered through Bernard Gallay Yacht Brokerage, is due to move from Greece to her home port of Sète in October 2026. The announced return creates a practical autumn viewing opportunity on the French Mediterranean coast.
The announcement is a forward schedule, not confirmation that the yacht has already arrived in France. Prospective buyers should check the latest location with the broker before making travel arrangements.
A performance cruiser with an ocean record
SURPRISE was launched in 2015 by Alibi Catamaran to a design by Loïc Goepfert and has completed a circumnavigation. Her 10.15-metre beam and 1.85-metre draught are relevant to both the cruising experience and berth planning.
Lightweight composite construction underpins the design, which aims to combine long-distance accommodation with responsive sailing. The broker describes a vessel equipped for offshore work rather than a catamaran used only for short coastal passages.
Carbon mast and dedicated sail inventory
The yacht carries a 26-metre rotating LORIMA carbon mast and Park Avenue carbon boom, paired with a DOYLE sail inventory. Twin 75hp Yanmar 4JH4/TE engines supply auxiliary propulsion.
A buyer will want an up-to-date inspection of standing and running rigging as well as machinery hours. A previous circumnavigation demonstrates use at sea but does not remove the need for current engineering checks.
Electrical and freshwater autonomy
The equipment list includes two Starlink connections, an 18-panel SOLBIAN solar array and a 15kVA generator. A watermaker rated at 200 litres per hour supports longer periods away from shore.
These systems could be attractive to buyers planning independent passages, but actual output and endurance depend on condition and consumption. Surveying the installation and reviewing the current electrical balance remain important before choosing a cruising programme.
Four cabins and a new viewing window
Four en-suite double guest cabins provide accommodation for eight, with two additional crew cabins for up to three. The saloon has panoramic glazing intended to keep the main living space connected with the water.
The broker expects SURPRISE to return to Sète during October, with French-coast viewings possible thereafter. LYG will not describe the yacht as already in port until an updated location is confirmed.
