Raymarine has launched Axiom 2 as the next generation of its multifunction-display family, pairing faster hardware with updated LightHouse charting. The new platform is aimed at sailors, anglers, cruisers and motor-yacht owners who want more processing headroom without abandoning the familiar Axiom and LightHouse ecosystem.
Six-core processing raises system capacity
Raymarine says Axiom 2 uses a six-core processor, giving the display more performance for charts, sonar, radar and third-party apps. Extra processing power matters most on installations that ask one helm display to handle several data-heavy tasks at once rather than simply showing a single chart page.
Brighter displays target real-world helm use
A helm screen has to remain readable in direct sunlight as well as at night, so display brightness and contrast are practical performance measures rather than cosmetic upgrades. Raymarine is positioning Axiom 2 as brighter and more responsive while retaining the rugged construction expected from marine electronics.
LightHouse charts evolve alongside the hardware
The hardware launch is paired with next-generation LightHouse charts, keeping charting and display development on the same product cycle. That can simplify ownership because users do not have to treat the chartplotter and mapping software as unrelated purchases with different upgrade paths.
Axiom remains a platform rather than a single display
Axiom’s value increasingly comes from integrations with cameras, stabilisers, AI-assistance tools and digital vessel systems. Axiom 2 therefore matters not only as faster hardware but as the new base on which Raymarine can expand those connected helm functions over the coming product cycle.
