Propspeed has launched a Like A Pro toolkit intended to make estimating, stripping and applying its foul-release coatings more predictable for marine businesses and boat owners. The programme combines a digital coverage calculator, the Stripspeed removal product and a new all-in-one application kit.
The new Coverage Calculator is designed to estimate how much coating is required for a job before materials are ordered. Propspeed says the tool can be saved to a phone home screen and used to produce product estimates for different underwater assets.

For yards and independent applicators, reducing uncertainty at the estimating stage can help control waste and avoid delays caused by discovering mid-job that more coating is required.
Stripspeed targets faster removal before recoating
The toolkit also incorporates Stripspeed, which Propspeed says can remove its own foul-release systems and similar coatings in 30 minutes or less. The intention is to reduce grinding and other labour-intensive preparation where a previous coating needs to come off.
Preparation is often the least visible but most time-consuming part of underwater coating work. A dedicated remover can therefore matter as much to total yard time as improvements in the coating itself.
New application kit standardises the final stage
Propspeed has paired the estimating and removal tools with a four-inch application kit containing the equipment needed for a controlled coating job. The company says the aim is to simplify application, improve finish consistency and reduce the time spent assembling separate tools.
Standardised consumables can also make it easier for yards to train staff around one repeatable method, especially when several technicians may work on the same yacht during a busy haul-out period.
The toolkit is aimed at process as much as product
Like A Pro is notable because Propspeed is packaging workflow tools around the coating rather than treating the coating tin as the whole product. That reflects a broader shift in yacht maintenance toward systems that help owners and yards plan labour, materials and turnaround time more accurately.
For luxury-yacht operators, the practical measure will be whether these tools reduce wasted product and shorten repeat maintenance without compromising surface preparation, which remains central to the durability of any coating system.
