Oyster Yachts is using the Southampton International Boat Show to put the Oyster 595 in front of buyers seeking a long-range sailing yacht that can still be operated by an owner and a small crew. The 60-foot model is on display at Mayflower Park through 27 September 2026.
A bluewater cruiser sized for owner operation
The 595 sits in the middle of Oyster’s current sailing range and is designed around offshore passagemaking rather than short coastal use. The builder emphasises shorthanded sailing capability, substantial storage and accommodation that can support extended periods aboard.
Up to eight guests and crew can be accommodated across four cabins, depending on configuration. Large hull windows and deck-saloon glazing bring more natural light into the interior, while the central living spaces remain arranged for secure movement when the yacht is underway.
Multiple keel and transom choices
One of the model’s more important ownership decisions is the choice of underwater configuration. Oyster offers standard and shallow-draft keel options, allowing buyers to balance sailing performance against access to cruising grounds where depth can become a practical limitation.
An extended-transom option adds more space at the stern, while a tender-garage arrangement can improve storage and launch convenience. Those choices let owners move the yacht toward either a cleaner long-distance cruising setup or a more equipment-heavy lifestyle programme.
Southampton gives buyers time aboard
Unlike a launch event focused on a new model reveal, the Southampton display is about giving prospective buyers time to examine a mature design in detail. Oyster is offering appointments on board, allowing visitors to assess circulation, sightlines, cabin arrangements and working areas in person.
The yacht’s appeal is particularly relevant to buyers who want to cross oceans without stepping into a much larger crewed sailing yacht. At around 60 feet, the 595 remains substantial enough for serious offshore use while staying within a size range where experienced owners may still prefer to take an active role in sailing and maintenance.

The Southampton International Boat Show runs until Sunday 27 September and brings together sailing yachts, motor yachts, marine equipment and service providers in one of the UK’s largest annual boating events. Oyster’s stand is M922, where the 595 forms the principal on-water model for the builder.
For Oyster, the show is also a domestic-market opportunity to reinforce its bluewater identity at a time when buyers have more multihull and performance-cruiser alternatives than ever. The 595 answers that competition with a conventional monohull platform but a wide range of configuration choices and a clear emphasis on long-distance ownership.
The model is not a new launch, but its continuing show presence matters because many purchase decisions in this segment depend on inspection rather than novelty. Southampton gives serious buyers a chance to compare the yacht’s build, accommodation and owner-operation proposition directly against other cruisers in the 15-to-20-metre market.
