Nautor Swan has launched the new Swan 80 in Pietarsaari, deliberately designing the opening model of its Maxi range to remain below 24 metres. The yacht combines maxi-style volume and offshore capability with a regulatory and operational footprint intended to remain manageable for owners.
The design team brings together naval architect Germán Frers, exterior stylist Lucio Micheletti and interior designer Misa Poggi. Construction uses glass-fibre reinforced epoxy with carbon reinforcement, while twin rudders and several keel choices support different cruising and performance priorities.
Why this matters in the luxury-yacht market
The sub-24-metre decision is commercially important because it allows Nautor Swan to offer much of the presence of a maxi yacht while keeping the platform within a different operational category. That can influence crewing, harbour access and the way an owner plans to use the yacht.
The deck is arranged for both reduced-crew sailing and full racing operation, with twin helms and a transformable aft area. Below deck, the first hull combines a forward master suite, VIP cabin, two additional guest cabins and separate crew accommodation.
What comes next
The Swan 80 is scheduled for its world premiere at Cannes before a sailing debut at the Rolex Swan Cup. Those appearances will put the yacht directly in front of both cruising owners and performance-focused Swan sailors.
