Nautitech's 41 Type S is opening a second La Rochelle sea-trial programme on 28–29 September, giving registered visitors time aboard the new performance-focused sailing catamaran. The builder calls this stage of its Great Quest programme an alternative to short dockside show visits.
The 41 Type S belongs within Luxury Yacht Guide's 12.00–23.99-metre remit, but an invitation to test the model is not evidence of a measured performance result. Nautitech is offering small-group sailing sessions in which prospective owners can assess how the design feels underway.
From the pontoon to the helm
Nautitech describes a programme in which participants handle the boat and experience it in motion instead of only looking through the cabins. The limited numbers are intended to leave room for questions and a fuller assessment of the sailing layout.
The official September notice identifies La Rochelle as the location and 28–29 September as the dates. A sea-trial appointment and boarding instructions must be confirmed with the builder rather than assumed from an event listing.
The 41 Type S design brief
The model uses Nautitech's WhisperHull concept, twin aft helms, an optimised sail plan and weight distribution intended to balance responsiveness with cruising accommodation. Visitors can compare visibility and access to controls from each helm under real conditions.
Crew movement and the connection between cockpit and living areas also matter on an owner-operated catamaran. A particular trial depends on wind and sea state, so impressions from one session should not be presented as universal performance data.
What happens after the trial
An interested owner should review the actual sail inventory, cabin configuration, electrical specification and delivery terms with the builder. The official model image identifies the 41 Type S; it does not purport to document today's individual sea trial.
The associated Great Quest event has its own LYG record, allowing subsequent coverage to be linked without treating an appointment-only programme as a general public boat show. Prospective owners should register with the builder before attending.
