Italyure Yachts is expanding its range with the 13.07-metre Italyure 42, a new project developed as a larger evolution of the Italian builder’s 38-foot platform. Designed by engineer Maurizio Marzocca, the yacht is offered in Classic and Sport interpretations with several propulsion routes aimed at different cruising styles and markets.
A 13-metre step up from the Italyure 38
The Italyure 42 measures 13.07 metres overall with a 4.10-metre beam and a listed displacement of 9.6 tonnes. The extra length is used to create more usable cruising space while preserving the walkaround deck arrangement and open-air character associated with the smaller model.
Exterior circulation connects separate social areas forward and aft, with a central dinette, sunpads and a summer galley positioned close to the helm. Italyure also offers a carbon T-top and shade solutions, allowing the deck to remain open while giving owners protection from strong Mediterranean sun.
Classic, Sport and Hard Top approaches
The builder describes the 42 as available in Classic and Sport forms, with the Sport version placing particular emphasis on outboard power. A newer Classic Hard Top treatment extends the overhead structure farther aft and introduces a central sliding glass section, creating a more protected cockpit without abandoning the yacht’s day-cruiser identity.
Side access through flush hull doors is also part of the Hard Top concept, adding another boarding route alongside the normal aft approach. That detail should be particularly useful when the yacht is alongside a quay or used in marinas where stern access is not always the most convenient option.
Three propulsion routes broaden the market
Italyure lists IPS, conventional shaft-drive and outboard configurations for the 42. The official specification includes twin Volvo Penta IPS installations, twin 400hp FPT or Cummins shaft-drive diesels and twin 425hp Mercury outboards, while the Sport configuration can also be arranged around multiple high-output outboards.
Published performance figures are in the 32-to-38-knot range depending on specification, with fuel capacity listed at 900 litres and fresh water at 240 litres. The variety of drivetrains gives the builder flexibility to address European buyers who favour diesel installations as well as markets where large outboards have become the preferred solution.
Two cabins for weekends as well as day use
Below deck, the forward owner’s area can be kept as a dedicated cabin or arranged so the berth converts into an L-shaped sofa and table. A guest cabin provides two single berths or a double arrangement, while a galley and bathroom with separate shower make the yacht suitable for short cruising rather than day use alone.
The layout therefore pushes the 42 beyond a pure open day boat even though outdoor living remains central to the design. Owners can use the yacht for a daytime programme with a large group and still retain proper sleeping accommodation for weekend trips or short coastal passages.
Italyure positions the 42 between its established 38-foot range and larger models in the company’s catalogue. With multiple propulsion systems and a choice between more open or protected deck configurations, the project is aimed at buyers who want a 13-metre yacht that can be tailored more substantially than a single fixed-specification production model.
