A workshop before the main marine trade show
The Marine Impact Lab is scheduled to return to RAI Amsterdam on 16 November 2026, ahead of METSTRADE's 17–19 November exhibition. Its afternoon programme aims to bring boatbuilders, designers, suppliers and sustainability professionals into practical sessions rather than restrict the subject to conference presentations.
The organiser's release was issued on 29 July, with the November programme remaining relevant to businesses planning autumn attendance. This is a scheduled industry event, not a report that any workshops have already taken place.
Turning environmental goals into work
The planned Selling Sustainability session, led by Foxall Munro and The Toolbox, focuses on making the case for environmental decisions inside a business. The organiser describes an ISO-based framework intended to help participants build policies, communicate with colleagues and connect environmental priorities with commercial operations.
For yards producing yachts of 12–23.99 metres, these questions can affect materials, supplier assessment and owner communications. The programme offers methods and discussion, not a certification that any participating boat or business has already reduced its environmental impact.
Design principles and better evidence
Marine Futures is due to lead a Sustainable Design Principles session using MarineShift360, while experts and participants share experience through the wider workshop format. The underlying idea is that design choices should be examined with data and across a product's lifecycle rather than relying on a single fashionable material.
The release also highlights the need for more credible, evidence-backed environmental claims. Manufacturers evaluating the tools should establish how data is gathered, what boundaries are used and whether comparisons concern similar vessels and operating assumptions.
Who can take part
The event is being developed with METSTRADE, Foxall Munro and Marine Futures, with subsidised workshop access aimed at a wider industry audience. DAME Awards shortlisted companies and selected start-ups have a particular partnership route into the programme, but the organiser says the Lab is open to METSTRADE visitors.
The session is scheduled for 14:00–17:00 at RAI Amsterdam. Attendance terms and remaining places should be confirmed through the official organiser rather than assumed from the announcement.
