The FPY59S tops the Barcelona sailing display
At 18.78 metres, the FPY59S will be the largest sailing yacht in Fountaine Pajot's Barcelona line-up. It joins the FP41, FP44, FP48 and FP55, creating a clear progression from compact owner-operated catamarans to a more yacht-like level of accommodation.
The model remains below Luxury Yacht Guide's 24-metre ceiling, making it a useful example of how much living space can be created within the upper end of the leisure-yacht sector. Its 9.46-metre beam is a major contributor to that volume.
Interior personalisation is a major part of the proposition
Fountaine Pajot offers three main FPY59S layout configurations, including owner-focused and six-cabin arrangements. The builder also says buyers can choose from more than 180 combinations of woods, flooring, leather, fabrics and finishes to create a more individual interior.
That degree of personalisation moves the yacht closer to the expectations of custom ownership while retaining a production platform. For buyers stepping up from smaller catamarans, the ability to shape the yacht around private or guest use may be one of its strongest attractions.
Living space extends well beyond the saloon
Fountaine Pajot quotes 1,238 square feet of living space, including a large aft cockpit, panoramic flybridge and substantial owner's suite. The design is intended to support extended cruising, entertaining and more separation between private and social areas than smaller catamarans can provide.
Direct circulation between the different decks and lounges is central to that concept. Owners inspecting the yacht in Barcelona can judge whether the extra beam and deck area translate into practical comfort rather than simply larger dimensions on a specification sheet.
Hybrid capability supports quieter cruising
The FPY59S can be configured with conventional or hybrid propulsion, supported by battery storage, a generator and solar generation. Fountaine Pajot presents the system as a way to reduce noise and vibration while improving energy flexibility during longer stays away from shore power.
For owners considering a yacht of this size, energy management becomes a significant part of the ownership experience. The Barcelona show provides an opportunity to discuss those systems directly while comparing the FPY59S with smaller Fountaine Pajot models from 14 to 18 October.
