FJORD has appointed SRC Marine as its new dealer in Turkey, giving the HanseYachts-owned motorboat brand a dedicated partner in one of the Mediterranean’s most active leisure-boating markets. The agreement covers sales, customer relationships and development of the FJORD presence across Turkey.
SRC Marine is led by Görkem Sarıca and specialises in premium marine distribution, with a focus on Scandinavian design, engineering and equipment. FJORD says the partnership will also have a visible launch point at Cannes, where the companies plan to present the new FJORD 440 Open together.
Turkey is more than a seasonal sales territory
Turkey combines a large domestic boating community with major cruising grounds along the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts. Marinas from Istanbul to Bodrum and Göcek support both locally owned yachts and international cruising traffic, making dealer capability relevant to service and owner support as well as new-boat sales.
For FJORD, that means a local partner needs to understand very different operating profiles. A boat used for fast day trips from Bodrum has different priorities from one kept in Istanbul or used for longer coastal cruising, so configuration advice and after-sales planning need to reflect where each owner will actually operate.
SRC Marine brings an existing premium-market network
FJORD highlights SRC Marine’s local contacts and understanding of high-end marine customers as important reasons for the appointment. An established distributor can shorten the time needed for a brand to build trust, especially when buyers already know the dealer from other equipment or boat relationships.
That existing network can also help with practical ownership issues such as transport, registration, engine support and marina contacts. The strongest dealer partnerships are usually those that solve these operational questions rather than functioning only as a showroom between the factory and customer.
The FJORD 440 Open gives the partnership a focal model
The new FJORD 440 Open will be presented jointly at Cannes, giving SRC Marine a current model around which to introduce the brand to Turkish buyers. FJORD positions the 440 Open around open-deck living, strong performance and the clean geometric styling that has become central to its identity.
Using a new model as the first major public project can be effective because dealer staff learn the latest systems and options alongside international media and other representatives. It also gives prospective customers a clear reason to engage with the new partnership rather than seeing the appointment as an administrative change with no immediate product connection.
Local service will determine long-term confidence
Owners of premium day boats expect rapid support because a relatively small fault can remove a boat from use during a short summer season. Access to technicians, diagnostic equipment and parts therefore matters just as much as the ability to configure and order a new yacht.
FJORD’s parent group can provide factory documentation and technical backing, but SRC Marine will be the local face when an owner needs help. The relationship will be judged by how quickly those two layers work together once delivered boats begin accumulating hours in Turkish waters.
Dealer coverage supports Mediterranean mobility
Turkey also sits within a wider cruising region where owners may move regularly between Greece, the eastern Mediterranean and other European destinations. A stronger network helps a builder support boats that do not remain within one dealer’s immediate territory throughout the year.
That mobility is particularly relevant to FJORD’s open motor yachts, which can be used as primary boats, holiday craft or tenders to larger yachts. Customers in each category expect service continuity, even when their boat is spending time away from its original home port.
Cannes starts the commercial test
The appointment gives FJORD an immediate story for Cannes, but the real measure will be how many Turkish owners engage with the brand and how well the first local deliveries are supported. Demonstration opportunities, owner events and technical responsiveness will show whether SRC Marine can convert its market knowledge into a durable FJORD business.
For buyers, the agreement reduces one of the risks of considering an imported production yacht: uncertainty about who will support it locally. If the new dealer can provide strong commissioning and after-sales care, FJORD’s Turkish expansion should matter more over the ownership cycle than the announcement itself. Local sea trials should provide the next evidence.
