Burnewiin is presenting its GM650 mounting platform to the marine industry ahead of IBEX 2026, describing a single deck fitting that accepts interchangeable accessories. The organiser's 22 September product feature lists rod holders, tables, barbecue adapters and downriggers among the attachments.
For a 12–23.99-metre yacht, the relevant design issue is whether a modular mount can be specified without multiplying deck penetrations. This is a component-and-installation story, not an announcement of a new boat model.
One base for several uses
The GM650 is described as replacing a conventional 30-degree rod-holder position in the production process. Owners then change the accessory attached to that base rather than installing separate dedicated mountings for every activity.
It may be useful on fishing, entertaining or mixed-use decks, but a builder must review structural support, drainage and expected loads. Compatibility should be established from the current technical specification, not from the interchangeable appearance alone.
How a yard would specify it
Burnewiin says its design follows existing rod-holder installation workflows without new factory tooling or a changed line sequence. Those are supplier assertions about a production process, not independently audited results for every yard.
A yacht refit can be different from a factory fit because earlier deck laminates and backing plates vary. An installer should examine the existing cutout, load path and sealing before treating the product as a simple drop-in.
A fitting with an after-sales dimension
Dealers can demonstrate multiple accessories on a single mounting point, while owners need to know which attachments remain available for their yacht. A long-term choice includes corrosion resistance and how quickly damaged components can be replaced.
