Two established yacht businesses renew collaboration
Boats Group and Galati Yacht Sales have agreed to continue a partnership spanning more than two decades. The announcement, dated 14 October 2026, places fresh emphasis on digital tools, market knowledge and the ways buyers discover yachts across online platforms.
Boats Group operates YachtWorld, Boat Trader and boats.com, while Galati is an established employee-owned yacht dealership and brokerage. The latest agreement concerns cooperation between the two companies, not the creation of a new merged business.
Data is central to the new arrangement
The companies say they intend to share perspectives on changing consumer preferences and the way prospective buyers research yachts. Boats Group can draw on activity across its marketplaces, while Galati provides direct knowledge from conversations and transactions with customers.
Combining those viewpoints may help identify weaknesses in online searches and listing presentation. The companies have not, however, disclosed any audited increase in yacht sales resulting from the renewed arrangement.
Galati continues to invest in its own systems
Galati has separately developed its own digital marketing and brokerage infrastructure, including tools for managing listings and customer relationships. Carmine Galati described control of data and investment in internal systems as important considerations for the company.
The decision to keep working with a major marketplace operator demonstrates that proprietary systems and external distribution can have complementary roles. Brokerages should nevertheless pay close attention to data accuracy and synchronisation between systems.
Why listings matter to luxury yacht owners
A yacht owner considering a sale benefits from accurate vessel specifications and marketing that reaches a relevant audience. Listings should describe maintenance history, equipment and availability consistently, even when they appear across several websites.
Technology can help manage enquiries and reach potential purchasers, but it cannot establish a vessel's actual condition or replace the checks undertaken during a sale. Professional responsibility remains with the broker and the relevant transaction advisers.
Partnership without quantified sales promises
Boats Group chief executive Patrick Kolek welcomed the renewed collaboration as part of its strategy to support brokers and dealers. The release does not set out exclusive access rights or a guaranteed change to asking prices and sales times.
For Luxury Yacht Guide readers, this is evidence of continued investment in how yachts are marketed and researched. Future features and results should be assessed against verified launches and reported performance, rather than assumed from the partnership statement.
