A dayboat used as a working yacht tender

Bellini Yacht supplied an Astor 38 to Royal Yacht International during the Monaco Yacht Show from 23 to 26 September. The boat was intended to move invited clients between Monaco's marina and vessels at anchor as part of the yacht agency's guest programme.

Although the Astor 38 is below the usual 12-to-24-metre Luxury Yacht Guide focus, its role demonstrates how smaller boats support larger yachts. Reliable embarkation, practical seating and clear boarding arrangements can shape a guest's first experience of a yacht.

Beyond a display-stand announcement

The partnership gave the Italian builder an operational setting in which guests could encounter its product rather than only inspect one alongside a quay. Carrying passengers on short transfers is a practical way to introduce the design to people who may later consider a dayboat of their own.

Event duties are different from ordinary private cruising, however. Vessel capacity, local permits, passenger handling and professional supervision remain essential when a launch is being used to carry guests among busy anchorages.

A wider commercial relationship

Royal Yacht International had also been named a sales representative for Bellini's Eternal 36, in partnership with Worth Avenue. That larger yacht is outside Luxury Yacht Guide's normal model-size scope, but the relationship explains why the companies are collaborating across different classes of vessel.

The Astor range gives Bellini access to owners looking for open cruising boats, while the agency brings an international network of contacts. Whether those enquiries translate into firm sales is not established by the boat-show partnership alone.

Bellini's relatively recent yacht division

Bellini Yacht was established in 2023 within the longer-standing Bellini Group, which has roots on Lake Iseo. The builder's early products include the Astor 36 and Astor 58, reflecting a move into contemporary open motor yachts.

Production is based in the Franciacorta area of northern Italy, with the group's heritage linked to boating on Lake Iseo. A buyer evaluating a young product line should inspect builder support, warranty coverage and access to model-specific parts as carefully as styling.

The realities of a busy Monaco harbour

A transfer craft has to manoeuvre among larger vessels, commercial traffic and changing harbour conditions. Access between the pontoon and boat needs close attention, particularly for guests wearing formal clothing or carrying bags.

The choice of an outboard configuration can offer useful manoeuvring and maintenance characteristics, but its suitability depends on the installation and local conditions. Operators must also plan how and where passengers will board a larger yacht offshore.

Lessons for owner-operated boating

For clients of 12-to-24-metre yachts, this story is less about a new technical specification and more about the service around boating. An attractive transfer can enhance hospitality, but consistency, crew judgement and safe access determine whether an experience feels effortless.

The Monaco cooperation illustrates a wider connection between yachtbuilders and service providers. Owners should evaluate a boat's practicality in use rather than assume that a high-profile show role alone proves suitability for their own cruising routine.
