A home with a boat close to the back gate changes how a family uses the water. Sandbox Properties’ Wayfarer proposal at Runaway Bay on the Gold Coast combines six three-level residences with six designated marina berths and a private residents’ beach.

Six homes and dedicated berths

The developer says every residence includes a marina berth with a three-phase 32-amp service pillar, direct access and no separate mooring fee in the advertised arrangement. The eastern waterfront opens towards the Broadwater without an intervening bridge on the advertised route.

A property listing is not enough to establish rights for every length, beam or draft. A buyer should obtain written confirmation of berth dimensions, title or licence terms, maintenance responsibilities and navigation restrictions.

Individual spaces for living and storage

The three-level homes are described with internal lifts, private heated pools and spas, a sauna, wine storage, a gym area and dedicated marine storage. The proposal also includes electric-vehicle charging and garaging.

The combination is clearly aimed at households that move regularly between road and water. Contract drawings, stage of delivery and the actual specification must be verified before treating an artist’s image as a completed residence.

Power and water considerations

Sandbox advertises rooftop solar arrays in the 17–24kW range and 27kW battery storage for each residence, with the system also supporting its berth connection. These are developer specifications and not verified performance figures for a particular household or yacht.

Energy savings depend on occupancy, weather, equipment and operating patterns. A marine electrician should review any interface to the vessel and the applicable electrical standards.

Runaway Bay as a base

The neighbourhood connects with Main Beach and Sanctuary Cove while giving owners access to shopping and leisure facilities. It can suit short local boating days as well as longer coastal itineraries when conditions permit.
