Conrad Koh Samui has opened The Pearl, a 766-square-metre, two-level presidential villa at the highest point of the resort. The new accommodation brings a private treatment suite, sauna, steam rooms, hot and cold plunge pools, fitness space and a 20-metre infinity pool into one self-contained retreat.

Wellness is built into the villa rather than added as an appointment

The Pearl places a couple’s treatment room, sauna, steam rooms, hydrotherapy pools and fitness equipment beside the master suite. Guests can move between exercise, recovery and relaxation without leaving their own accommodation or planning the day around a separate spa booking.

That changes the rhythm of a resort stay. A short workout before breakfast, a cold plunge after time in the sun or a treatment late in the afternoon can happen when it suits the guest, which is arguably a more useful form of luxury than adding ever more scheduled activities.

The two levels separate entertaining from private downtime

The upper floor is arranged around an open-plan living room, private bar, catering kitchen and a large terrace overlooking the Five Islands. It is designed for drinks, private dinners and entertaining without pushing those activities into the quieter bedroom and wellness areas below.

Downstairs, the master suite opens towards the sea and connects with the wellness zone and outdoor terrace. That separation should make the villa work for couples who want privacy as well as families or friends using the space for a more social stay.

Outdoor living is central to the design

A 20-metre infinity pool, sunken dining pavilion and private outdoor cinema make the terrace a genuine living area rather than a narrow strip around a plunge pool. The setting at the resort’s highest point also gives the villa broad views across the Gulf of Thailand.

Natural stone, warm timber and layered textures are used inside, with references to Thai craft intended to connect the architecture to Koh Samui. The strongest resort design usually works when the landscape remains the main event, and the villa appears to have been planned around that principle.

The Pearl is intended for highly private island stays

The first guests can book the villa from October 2026. Chef-led dining and dedicated guest services allow much of the stay to be organised privately, although the wider Conrad resort and Koh Samui remain available when guests want a change of scene.

For LYG readers, the interesting element is the integration of wellness and outdoor living into one residence. It is a high-end proposition, but the design ideas—privacy, flexible recovery and a strong relationship with the sea—mirror priorities increasingly seen across premium yachting and coastal travel.
