BMW has detailed its autumn 2026 model updates, including a substantial expansion of the Individual paint programme for the 7 Series and electric i7. The flagship saloons also gain new comfort options, while BMW is extending in-car entertainment and navigation features across compatible models.

Eight two-tone finishes broaden flagship personalisation

BMW says the 7 Series and i7 will be available with eight Individual two-tone or dual-finish paint combinations from autumn 2026. The palette includes combinations built around Black Sapphire, Space Silver, Aventurine Red, Tanzanite Blue, Vancouver Green and several Frozen finishes for buyers wanting a more distinctive flagship saloon.

The option fits LYG’s upper-luxury lifestyle brief because the 7 Series sits in the same ownership world as premium marina travel, long-distance touring and hotel-led leisure trips. Personalisation at this level is less about headline performance and more about creating a car that feels deliberately specified rather than simply selected from stock.

Comfort equipment grows alongside the colour programme

BMW is also adding a digital interior mirror and a pre-heating option to the 7 Series and i7 range. These additions are comparatively small beside a full model launch, but they address the day-to-day convenience that often matters more to owners after the novelty of a new car has faded.

That emphasis is relevant for buyers who use a flagship saloon as a regular travel car rather than an occasional statement piece. Easy visibility, cabin preparation and thoughtful equipment integration can make repeated airport, marina and long-distance journeys noticeably more comfortable without changing the car’s basic character.

Prime Video expands the parked-car entertainment menu

BMW says Amazon Prime Video will be added during the second half of 2026 for vehicles using compatible Operating System 9 or Operating System X software. Owners will be able to continue programmes through the vehicle’s video applications where market availability, connectivity and local rules permit.

The practical value is most obvious while charging, waiting for passengers or spending time parked between journeys. It also shows how premium-car differentiation is moving beyond leather, trim and engine choice toward software services that owners increasingly expect to follow them across home, phone and vehicle.

Navigation is becoming a richer digital layer

From October 2026, BMW Maps on Operating System X vehicles is set to combine navigation, surroundings and driver-assistance information in a more integrated three-dimensional view. BMW also says Google data will improve place search and add richer information such as photos, reviews and other location details.

For LYG readers, this sort of update can be useful when travelling between marinas, hotels and unfamiliar coastal destinations where accurate points of interest matter as much as the main route. The broader autumn package therefore combines traditional luxury personalisation with software-led convenience rather than treating the two as separate parts of ownership.
