A yacht stop in Antibes is as much about the walk into the old town as the berth itself. Port Vauban has completed its rebuilt Quai Pierre Merli, part of the marina’s wider transformation programme, with upgraded utilities and a refreshed edge to the waterfront.

What has changed at the quay

The operator identifies a reinforced structure, modernised electricity and water networks, upgraded mooring fittings, rainwater drainage with settling tanks and new lighting. Its official project page also lists thirty parking places and landscaping within the improved area.

Those works serve a functioning port and should not be mistaken for a new public yacht terminal or an unrestricted berth offer. Arriving vessels still need to reserve and comply with marina procedures.

Walking from the water into Antibes

The rebuilt quay contributes to the setting for an ashore stroll, with the old town, ramparts and waterfront restaurants making a convenient sequence for visitors. The nearby Saint-Jaume footbridge extends the rampart walk, subject to its posted opening hours.

Port Vauban states that the footbridge is available from 15:00 until sunset. Anyone planning a longer evening should check current access before including it as a return route.

A broader construction programme

Other parts of Port Vauban, including Anse Saint-Roch and the fishermen’s area, remain on a phased works programme. The operator warns that some service roads and parking may be disrupted during continued construction.

An owner should verify access, provisioning and transfer arrangements for the actual berth rather than conclude that completion of the Merli quay means the entire redevelopment is finished.

A shore day rather than a superyacht claim

Antibes serves craft of many sizes, and the appeal for a sub-24m yacht household lies in its town, rail and airport connections as much as its large-yacht facilities. The destination should be evaluated on the individual berth and travel plan.
