A 98-berth harbour will lead directly to the resort

Wynn Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah has revealed further details of Wynn Marina, a planned 98-berth harbour attached to the resort scheduled to open in 2027. The marina is intended to accommodate vessels up to 85 metres, giving guests arriving by yacht direct access to accommodation, restaurants and waterfront experiences.

The company describes a circular basin with water depth of approximately five metres, a layout intended to offer broad fairways and sheltered manoeuvring space. These are design specifications for a development under construction, not a declaration that berths can already be reserved for an operational marina in October 2026.

Wynn has also outlined a 197-metre pontoon linking the basin to a dedicated arrival and operations building known as the Capitainerie. The idea is to make arrival from sea feel integrated with the hotel, while giving captains access to the shore services needed to manage their vessels.

The Capitainerie becomes the first point of contact

The announced facilities include arrangements for passport processing and vessel-side check-in, alongside provisioning support, concierge assistance and services designed to help manage yacht arrivals and departures. Crew amenities are expected to include showers, changing rooms and welfare spaces.

Visitors would be able to move from the marina into a resort containing more than 1,500 rooms and suites, with dining, shops, wellness facilities and venues for events. Linking hospitality to marina operations offers an alternative to the traditional separation between a town marina and nearby hotels.

Some elements remain subject to the final operating plans and permissions, and foreign yachts must still follow the applicable customs and immigration requirements. An advertised hospitality service does not itself create an exemption from the procedures imposed by UAE authorities.

A circular footprint brings both opportunities and limits

Marina Solutions International has worked on the feasibility, commercial plan and marina design since 2022, including advice on berth arrangement and operations. Its focus has been to use the available circular basin and protective breakwaters efficiently while maintaining suitable routes for movement inside the harbour.

The intended design places larger vessels alongside boats much closer to ordinary owner-operated cruising size. That mixture means captains must confirm the precise dimensions of their allocated position, since a marina capable of receiving an 85-metre yacht will not necessarily have that capacity at every berth.

Shore services such as power, water and safe fuelling arrangements are also critical to the quality of a marina visit. Operators can provide appealing public spaces, but dependable utilities and clear arrival information remain the foundation of an effective home port.

IGY is named for future operations

Marina operator IGY Marinas has been selected to manage the waterfront when it opens, while Dewan Architects + Engineers designed the Capitainerie. Their respective responsibilities demonstrate that marina architecture, development and day-to-day management are different aspects of the same project.

The site is approximately 80 kilometres from Dubai International Airport, providing a potential link between Gulf cruising and the wider travel network. Actual transfer times and the preferred approach for a particular yacht will depend on road traffic, marina access and the vessel's route.

The image accompanying the report is an official Wynn development visual, not a photograph of a completed marina. The news is the detailed plan and 2027 operating ambition; opening dates, prices and yacht reservations should be confirmed only after the operator releases its final programme.
