Bodrum welcomes a proven high-speed luxury cruiser

PHOENIX Yacht Management has confirmed that the Windy SR52 Blackbird will be a central part of its display at the second Bodrum Boat Show, scheduled for 14–18 October 2026. The yacht will be available for visitors to inspect at Stand B-02, with the management company offering pre-arranged conversations and private viewings.

The particular vessel being exhibited was built in 2021 and is described by the company as 16.03 metres long with a 4.35-metre beam and a draft of approximately 1.23 metres. These dimensions place the yacht firmly within Luxury Yacht Guide's under-24-metre focus while preserving the generous cockpit space expected of a serious superyacht chase boat.

The event has not yet begun as of 13 October, so the announcement should not be described as a completed debut or a report of confirmed show attendance. It is an invitation to view an existing yacht in Bodrum rather than an announcement of a newly launched Windy model.

Speed and design sit together on the SR52

The Blackbird's exterior was developed by Dubois Yacht Design, with naval architecture by Hans Jørgen Johnsen. Its long, low profile and uninterrupted walkaround deck reflect the dual purpose of a yacht capable of transferring guests quickly and providing a comfortable private day at anchor.

PHOENIX lists twin Volvo Penta IPS 800 propulsion with a cruising speed of 40 knots and a maximum of 46 knots for the displayed yacht. Those are the advertised figures for the 2021 example, not an independently witnessed sea trial carried out during the 2026 boat show.

Owners should ask how the specific yacht performs with a realistic passenger load and sea conditions, and how the IPS drives are supported by local technicians. High-speed capability brings practical maintenance considerations that are less obvious than the striking exterior styling.

More than a transfer boat

The open cockpit has seating and sunbathing areas suited to day cruising, while a cabin and bathroom below provide the possibility of staying aboard overnight. The company describes capacity for up to twelve guests when cruising, subject to the applicable certification and equipment arrangement.

This combination is useful for owners who might otherwise regard a chase boat as a specialist accessory to a much larger vessel. A 16-metre yacht can also serve as a primary luxury cruiser for shorter trips, combining fast journeys with time at smaller bays and waterfront restaurants.

The relatively shallow draft and IPS manoeuvring system may make access easier in some harbours, but docking remains a technical activity requiring suitable depth, beam clearance and a competent helmsperson. Buyers should inspect side-deck access and boarding arrangements as carefully as the saloon finishes.

Bodrum's second show tests a growing market

The show returns after an inaugural 2025 edition that organisers say drew more than 25,000 visitors, around 200 exhibitors and approximately 250 boats. These are historical figures for the first event, not an attendance forecast or result for October 2026.

PHOENIX is using the exhibition to meet owners interested in yacht sales, charter, management and refit services. Its team can explain the individual boat's condition and equipment, while the yard's official SR52 material provides a technical comparison with other examples of the type.
