Veya enters the market with a 16.5-metre power catamaran
Veya Yachts has made its public debut with the Veya 53, a 16.5-metre power catamaran presented at the 2026 Cannes Yachting Festival. The French brand also used the event to confirm the Veya 47, a smaller 14.5-metre model planned for a world premiere in Cannes in 2027.
The Veya 53 is the first yacht from the new company, which brings together experience from Fountaine Pajot and Couach Catamarans. Construction takes place in France using foam-core sandwich infusion, combining a lightweight composite structure with the beam and usable deck area associated with a power-catamaran platform.
Range aims to balance space, strength and cruising performance
Veya is positioning the 53 around generous living areas and a strong connection between interior and exterior spaces. The twin-hull layout provides a broad platform for social areas while retaining the efficiency advantages that have helped power catamarans gain ground in both private and charter markets.
The company has also appointed François Doré as chief executive as it moves from launch phase into a two-model programme. Confirming the 47 alongside the debut yacht gives the new brand an immediate product roadmap rather than relying on a single introductory model.
New brand enters a competitive catamaran segment
Power catamarans have become increasingly visible across the luxury market as owners look for volume, shallow-draft access and efficient cruising within a given overall length. Veya’s entry adds another French-built option to a sector already attracting established multihull builders and conventional motor-yacht brands.
The next test will be how the Veya 53 performs in owner use and how quickly the smaller 47 reaches production maturity. With the first yacht launched and a second model already scheduled, Veya is moving directly from brand introduction into a broader range-development phase.
