Fort Lauderdale becomes the next major showcase
The Manhattan 56 is scheduled to make its United States debut at Fort Lauderdale after appearing in Sunseeker’s European programme earlier in the season. FLIBS gives prospective American owners a chance to inspect the model in the conditions and market where flybridge yachts of this size are frequently used for Florida and Bahamas cruising.
Sunseeker’s show line-up also includes the Predator 55, Manhattan 68, 76 Yacht and several larger models. For Luxury Yacht Guide, the Manhattan 56 is especially relevant because its dimensions keep it firmly within the owner-oriented sub-24-metre sector while still offering multiple exterior living zones.
A redesigned cockpit focuses on adaptable outdoor living
Sunseeker describes the Manhattan 56 as having a completely reworked stern arrangement that can shift between dining, lounging and a full-beam sunpad configuration. The concept is intended to let the same aft area serve different roles during a day aboard rather than dedicating valuable deck space to one fixed use.
That flexibility is significant on yachts in this size class because owners often want to entertain, dine and relax without adding length simply to gain another social zone. A transformable cockpit can make the boat feel larger at anchor while preserving a manageable footprint for marina berths and close-quarters handling.
More glazing changes the atmosphere inside
The new exterior profile uses expanded glazing to create a stronger visual connection between the saloon and the water. Sunseeker has paired the cleaner silhouette with an interior layout designed to make movement between the cockpit, saloon and upper deck feel more natural during everyday family cruising.
Large windows are now expected in the premium flybridge market, but their value depends on how they work with furniture, storage and sightlines from seated positions. Buyers viewing the yacht in Fort Lauderdale will be able to judge whether the added glass improves the lived experience rather than simply making the exterior profile more dramatic.
Twin Volvo Penta diesels provide the propulsion package
Sunseeker specifies twin Volvo Penta D13-800 engines for the Manhattan 56, giving the yacht a conventional diesel installation suited to its cruising brief. The propulsion choice places emphasis on familiar service support and straightforward long-distance use rather than chasing unusually high performance figures for the category.
For prospective owners, the US debut is therefore about more than styling. It offers a chance to assess the practical combination of machinery access, helm ergonomics, accommodation, storage and exterior flexibility that determines whether a 56-foot yacht works comfortably for repeated weekends and longer coastal trips.
