An enclosed alternative within the Ocean family

Sunseeker has placed the 82 Ocean Enclosed in its published lineup for the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, running from 28 October to 1 November 2026. Unlike the open flybridge formula that dominates many yachts of comparable length, this model puts a protected wheelhouse and a Sky Lounge on the upper deck.

The arrangement is particularly relevant to owners who divide time between warm-weather anchorages and passages where exposure, rain or changing sea conditions can reduce the usefulness of a completely open helm. A sheltered upper lounge can remain part of the guest accommodation even when the vessel is making way, subject to safe operation and the skipper's instructions.

At 25.14 metres overall, the yacht occupies a size bracket that demands considered operating arrangements. An attractive saloon is only one part of the ownership calculation: deck handling, professional crew needs, maintenance access and the intended length of passages all matter.

Four or five cabins and interior volume

Sunseeker publishes a beam of 6.56 metres and offers four- or five-cabin configurations, with the exact arrangement dependent on the selected layout. Its design emphasis is on a panoramic main-deck saloon and easy movement between interior seating and the exterior areas.

The boatbuilder describes the accommodation as distributed across three levels, rather than concentrating guest amenities on one deck. That configuration may appeal to extended-family owners who need both shared entertaining space and a quiet place for different generations or visiting friends.

Owners considering the optional cabin arrangements should study not just berth numbers but the position of the galley, crew circulation and access to exterior decks. Privacy and service quality depend on how these zones work together when the yacht is occupied by a full party.

Performance and passage planning

Sunseeker's published technical information lists shaft propulsion, engine power up to 3,300 PS and a maximum speed of up to 25 knots. An indicative range of up to 900 nautical miles at 10 to 12 knots points toward the vessel's slower-speed cruising potential rather than a promise of constant high-speed endurance.

Range calculations require particular care because reserves, weather, fouling, stabiliser operation, generators and actual loading can alter the result. A skipper planning a crossing should use the precise consumption figures for the installed engines and allow for realistic sea margins.

The 82 Ocean Enclosed is therefore better evaluated as a flexible voyage platform than purely on its maximum speed. A demonstration should include helm visibility, docking manoeuvres and the sound and vibration levels experienced in the protected upper lounge.

What buyers can examine at Fort Lauderdale

Visitors should compare the relationship between the upper Sky Lounge and the main saloon and ask how each space behaves in sunlight, high temperatures and changeable weather. Sightlines through the wheelhouse and the ease of moving from an enclosed control station to exterior mooring positions deserve close inspection.

The yacht's larger beam creates useful interior volume but also influences berth selection, marina charges and handling in tighter facilities. Buyers intending to cruise internationally should check the yacht's exact certification, flag-state requirements and crew accommodations before finalising an operating plan.

Sunseeker's show presentation provides a useful opportunity to inspect craftsmanship and layout choices in person. The decisive comparison remains between the displayed vessel's actual specification and the owner’s intended passages, guest numbers and support arrangements.
