Dutch builder Stratos Yacht has entered a new growth phase with fresh financial backing and a new management team, while continuing development of the DB75 and confirming that another new Stratos model is planned for 2027. The announcement follows the DB50's establishment as the first model in the range and signals that Stratos intends to broaden both its product line and international dealer presence.
Stratos says Sebastiaan Brinkhorst and Erwin Rodewijk are leading the next phase, supported by a new professional partner and what the builder describes as a significant financial injection. The company has not disclosed the size or detailed structure of that investment, so the most important evidence will be the pace at which new models, production capacity and dealer coverage actually develop.
The DB50 remains the foundation of the range
The 15-metre-class DB50 is the model on which Stratos has built its current identity, combining Dutch construction with a performance-oriented offshore brief. The builder used the 2026 Cannes Yachting Festival to put the DB50 in front of an international audience while outlining the next stage of its expansion.
For a relatively young yacht brand, maintaining a clear product identity while expanding is important. Adding models too quickly can strain engineering, production and aftersales resources, whereas a measured range extension can make the dealer network more viable and give existing owners a clearer path to move within the brand.
DB75 development remains part of the plan
Stratos says the previously announced DB75 remains the next step in its portfolio. At around 75 feet, that project would move the builder to the upper edge of Luxury Yacht Guide's under-24-metre scope and create a much larger platform than the DB50 without abandoning the same offshore-performance positioning.
The company has not used this latest announcement to publish new final specifications, pricing or delivery dates for the DB75. Those details will matter more than concept positioning when prospective owners begin comparing it with established 70- to 75-foot performance cruisers from larger production builders.
Another Stratos model is planned for 2027
Beyond the DB75, Stratos confirms that it is already developing another new model scheduled for launch in 2027. No name, dimensions or layout have yet been released, so it would be premature to place the yacht in a particular market segment.
What the announcement does establish is a broader product-development programme rather than a single-model business. That makes the strengthened financial position strategically relevant: tooling, engineering, certification, prototype testing and dealer support all become more demanding when a builder moves from one established yacht into a multi-model range.
Growth will be measured by delivery and support
Stratos says international expansion and a stronger professional network are central to the new phase. For owners, that network can be just as important as the yachts themselves because warranty work, parts supply, technical assistance and resale support become more difficult when a builder's service footprint does not keep pace with sales.
The investment and leadership changes therefore deserve attention, but Luxury Yacht Guide will judge the expansion through tangible results: completed yachts, published specifications, production consistency and service coverage. The 2027 model programme should provide the clearest indication of how quickly Stratos can turn this new financial and management structure into a broader operating business.
