A new boat show for the Dallas market

The National Marine Manufacturers Association has announced the Discover Boating DTX Boat Show for 18–21 March 2027. The new event is planned for the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas.

NMMA says it intends to bring manufacturers, regional dealers and consumers together in a market with substantial boating interest. The event is a new addition to the association's established national network of boat shows rather than a renaming of an existing exhibition.

A large exhibition venue secured

The association has reserved approximately 300,000 square feet of exhibition space at the Dallas convention centre. Its announcement says a lease has been secured through 2029, giving exhibitors visibility beyond the inaugural event.

That scale allows space for boat displays and businesses providing associated products and services. However, no final model-by-model exhibitor list was established in the initial announcement, and prospective visitors should wait for confirmed participants.

Dates already scheduled through 2029

After the inaugural 18–21 March 2027 event, NMMA has scheduled the Dallas show for 16–19 March 2028. The association also announced dates of 1–4 March 2029 for the third edition.

Publishing a multi-year schedule can help marine businesses plan marketing budgets and product appearances. Dates remain subject to operational arrangements, so companies should confirm final booking conditions directly with NMMA.

North Texas boating audience is the focus

NMMA president and chief executive Frank Hugelmeyer described North Texas as a strong boating market with considerable potential for additional participation. The organisers intend to use the Discover Boating name and broader marketing programme to attract buyers.

For dealers, a local exhibition can provide a way to compare products in one venue and meet potential customers. For buyers, show information should still be supplemented by sea trials and checks of local service availability.

What the announcement does not yet establish

Darren Envall, an NMMA vice president responsible for Midwest and Midsouth shows, has been named manager of the inaugural Dallas event. The association has not reported attendance numbers because the show has yet to take place.

The immediate news is the confirmation of venue and future dates. Vessel debuts, individual exhibitor announcements and ticket details are matters for later updates when the organisers release verified information.
